OneSpin's 360 MV Solution Honored for Fourth Time for Significant Innovations in Functional RTL Verification

360 MV's Debug Automation Technology Named Finalist in EDN's 20th Annual Innovation Awards Competition

EDN Innovation Finalist
MUNICH, Germany and SUNNYVALE, Calif. – March 4, 2010 – OneSpin Solutions, an electronic design automation (EDA) company that provides innovative functional RTL verification solutions, today announced that its RootCauseAnalyzer – a debug automation technology that reduces debug time and effort in formal assertion-based verification (ABV) by up to 90 percent – has been selected from hundreds of nominations as a finalist for this year's EDN Innovation Awards. The RootCauseAnalyzer is an integral part of OneSpin's 360 MV™ solution for formal ABV. Instituted in 1990, the EDN awards for excellence in electronics honor the people, products, and technologies that shaped the semiconductor industry during the past year. This is the fourth time the industry has acknowledged OneSpin's 360 MV for its significant innovations in functional RTL verification.
"We received an impressive number of submissions for our 2009 Innovation Awards program, indicating that innovation was alive and well despite the economically challenging year," said Rick Nelson, EDN editor-in-chief. "In the EDA: Front-End Analysis and Synthesis Tools category, OneSpin's RootCauseAnalyzer was one of the outstanding submissions our editors chose."

The RootCauseAnalyzer automates the otherwise effort-intensive analysis and debug of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and RTL code to find the root cause of why an assertion check failed for a given design. It eliminates most of the error-prone manual effort required by traditional debug approaches – effort that constitutes up to 40 percent of the total verification process. Its patented SVA source code debugger automatically identifies the failing part of assertions of any degree of complexity, resulting in significantly greater ABV productivity and quality.
OneSpin's President and CEO Peter Feist commented, "This latest selection by EDN marks the fourth time our 360 MV offering has been recognized as one of the industry's most innovative and significant products for functional RTL verification. EDN's selection of RootCauseAnalyzer is a further endorsement that OneSpin is a significant innovator of verification technology. It reflects our strong commitment to advance technology with first-class solutions that address our customers' verification needs."
